I’ve been going through a somewhat infuriating art-dryspell this past week. I think I’m finally starting to come out of it now. |D

While trying to work up the gusto to do something useful, I dug up some older sketches and things and pecked at them.

This guy came about from some random generator prompt thingie. I think it was They Fight Crime! or something. It was originally a male and female character together; a sword-wielding hunchbacked werewolf working for the circus and a plucky winged Victorian hooker, but she wasn’t working out so she got cut out. :I

I hate how the shading is coming out. Ughh. Oh well, I just gotta start over, I think.

And some Toulouse. = w= The full color pic is older, and still weird in places anatomically, but I like it. The others were done the other day, blahblah.

I have had enough of them to satisfy me for a lifetime, thanks to a very, er … opinionated uncle. |D Shall we say.

Anyway, have some party mascots. 8U I tried to make them both look equally … Unpleasant, I guess. I dunno if I succeeded there, but there is no agenda if I failed. I promise. xD I might go back and color these, dunno. I kinda liked how they came out.

So I’ve been playing Terraria lately with friends. `3` My first character was not thought out very well, and then my second one I decided to make a remake of my Dofus character Elisasca. Who was green with white hair. (I don’t know. I grew fond of her after a while, though.)

The newest update brought in social slots for armor, so you can have one thing on, but it can look like something else. I’ve been running around with a rose in my hair for the social, but the mining helmet in the actual equip. So my head glows for no reason. 8| It’s awesome. <3 I liked the idea of a glowing head rose for light, so I wanted to draw it and here we go. Doodled it up between doing portraits for a family member. |D

I started completely over on that disaster from yesterday. xD It was the only way, really. I think my biggest problem was that I rushed it, and when I started over and did things more methodically, it made all the difference. This isn’t perfect by any means, or even what I really want it to look like in the end, but … yeah. I’m happy with where it’s going now. I learned things wheee \o/

Also there is this thing I did a while back. A friend was doing a bunch of character pics like this, and so I decided to copy him and do one of Toulouse. xD I rather like how it came out, but I dunno if I want to post it on dA, so I’ll just put it here.

This took so many hours of my life yesterday, and it still looks like a hat full of assholes (to appropriate a most eloquent phrase from Kotaku).

Why do I suck at everything so bad aauuuughhhhhh

I think I have a plan of attack for this, and I think I know what I keep doing wrong with paintings like this, but just. Ughhh. xD;; Oh well, back to work. *nose to grindtablet… tabletstone?*

So, in making a tumblr to have a place to post art without the pressure/anxiety that I have about posting on dA

I started to have the same anxiety about posting to tumblr.

I’M SUPER GOOD AT THIS BEING ACTIVE ON THE INTERNET THING.

At least I didn’t totally forget about tumblr, though! I’ve been lurking big time, looking at the lovely art that rolls through my dashboard. <3 But I want to get into posting semi-regularly, for serious this time. / A\ (This is, what, the third time I’ve said this now?) 

So I start with this sketch dump of a new character~ Her name is Elka and she is very unsure of herself. She started out as just a random character I thought up while listening to very pretty music, but after a few role changes, she’s becoming very important in her story. `u` (Which I reeeeallyreallyreallyreally want to start drawing, but I need to write it all first. At least in my OCT style of writing things out: “They do this, and then this happens, and they say witty things and then BOOM FIGHTTIME”)

The length of her dress and hairstyle changes through these because I am incapable of consistency. … no, that’s not what I meant to say. Because I’m still trying to decide what looks best. / A\;;;

I hope that’s not obnoxiously big. 8x I’m gunna see what else I can rustle up to post throughout the day, I think, so stay tuned for more! Or … something. 6 A9
